It’s interesting how culture affects the way we perceive things. In America, dating has its set of rules and etiquette that differ from that in other countries. Even simple things like terminology shape the way we see and think. As an example, the term “going dutch” means that you pay for yourself. Do other countries have similar terminology? Perhaps the dutch use the phrase “going american”?
Do singles in other countries follow the same code of conduct as Americans regarding chivalry and the like? I have no idea but my guess would be that they don’t. I also wonder about conversations on free dating websites – are they similar to conversations initiated by singles from the old US of A? Cultural differences are very intriguing, to me at least.
I once dated a girl from England and she was different than the local girls I’m used to. Different in the sense of being more candid and open about sexuality and other topics that would make an american blush. Dating different people from different cultures is a great experience if you have access, I would recommend it.
